A drop of oil and a day or 2 of playing with this knife and it flops open nicely. Razor sharp. Just started torture testing. So far so good. I love this knife. Most of my folders are Zero Tolerance and Emerson, a few Benchmade. This is only my second Spyderco. The first had a VG10 blade and cracked the first day. This h a s gone 2 weeks without an issue. Ordering another to keep in the safe.
I LOVE this knife. What a HOOT of an oversized EDC with great steel. Fit, finish & hand feel are all amazingly GOOD. It's a really big boy . Flip this open in any intimate sharing circle & watch em' faint. This is a tactical take no prisoners kind of knife yet... so easy to love. I'm so glad Spyderco makes this big galute.
Just received the Yojumbo several days ago and yes upon first getting it in hand, the action was a little stiff. But after a day of opening and closing, the action loosend up just fine. Centering came perfect, knife was sharp, already got bit on my thumb, and ergos is great. It's a big knife but I highly recommend it, just get one, you won't be disappointed!!
Been a fan of spyderco for ages but have not been into many of the new designs. However, when I saw the yojumbo and yojimbo I had to have one. Lockup is super solid blade centered on point and it was shaving sharp. Very nice higher end edc that would hold up to almost anything.
This knife is near perfect. The length of both handle and blade fit my hands well. I’m a big fan of the blade shape. This thing destroys boxes. The g10 on the handle is much more course than other spyderco knives so there’s much less chance of the knife flipping. The blade is easy to open and easy to close. The lock doesn’t pinch your hand. S30v is easy to sharpen and stays sharp with regular stropping. I just can’t say enough good stuff about this knife. This is probably the last expensive knife that i’ll ever buy because I have everything I want in this knife.
action needed some tuning, and blade isn't sharp at all. I'm confused...I was excited for this iteration of the yojimbo series, but I got yof^cked with this example....
Pros: Ease of Opening, Handle Material, Blade Material
Cons: Handle Feel
Bigger is not always better
I really was looking forward to the Yojumbo - when it arrived i was disappointed. The blade was not sharp at all and came uncentered. Of course, you can fix these issues. However, what you cannot fix is the unergonomic handle. Spyderco did just blow up the handle of the Yojimbo but while the Yojimbo handle is very ergonomic, the Yojumbo handle does not fit at all - at least not for me. I have glove size 10 and when i grip the handle my fingers rest on the bulges of the handle - not good.
