Great "big knife"

I have a couple of Shamans. I like them, but the thing that has always bothered me about them is the finger choil. A finger choil might make sense on a Native, but I can't see the purpose on a large knife, like the Shaman, where you already have plenty of real estate for a full grip. The Bodacious solves this problem. I really like that I can get up right behind the edge with a standard grip. I also prefer the flat scales, as they make for a trimmer knife. I don't have any experience with Spy 27 steel, but I understand that it's relatively balanced. The factory edge is sharp, typical Spyderco clip. And of course, it has the excellent compression lock, and with this model, there's no little nub that hits your finger on closing the knife. My only complaint is that the G10 is completely smooth, just like on the Shaman. I was hoping they'd make it a little more textured. It's a heavy knife and wants to slip out of your hand. I guess extra vigilance will be required.

Best new design

Big spyderco fan. Oddly not a big fan of finger choils. This is a perfect user knife. Great size for a full grip, no matter your hand size. First impressions with spy27 are good. I like a sharper angle than what comes factory, but it appears to hold an edge better than s30v. Still, the steel is soft enough to use ceramic sharpening stones. Diamonds are not at all required.

Worth the Wait!

I'm a collector and this makes a very nice addition to my Spydercos. The size and shape of the blade are classic, and I love the feel of the handle.
