Perfect Medium Sized EDC
The Spyderco Native 5 in CruWear is the perfect EDC if you plan to use your knife rather than just fidget with it all day. I'm a fan of CruWear (my paramilitary 2 in CruWear has had the most pocket time for the last year) and I love the edge that I can put on this steel, so I was thrilled to see that KnifeCenter had this exclusive. The Native 5 is already a great blade shape and size. I'm 6'2" with extra large hands and the choil gives me a rock solid full four finger grip on the smooth G10 handles. This isn't a giant knife, nor is it a small knife. It's that perfect mid-size knife that rides easy in the pocket (or 5th pocket if you're a bigger guy with deeper pockets). It works bigger than it is while retaining blade finesse. It's also strong with the lockback mechanism and zero blade-play. Single hand use is possible, though this isn't a fidget friendly blade that pops open and closed. You're trading lock strength for fidget-ability. For my money, I want a hard working knife that will stand up to dozens of broken down boxes before I have to sharpen it...and this Native 5 is perfect. Oh...and it's all blacked out, which I love. Just a great knife that is going to get a ton of pocket time.
