All round EDC thats good at everything

Contrary to some other reviews I've read on the Native the size is not an issue for me. I find it an easy carry, with the profile and the weight you instantly forget it's in your pocket no matter what you're doing. It is a little small for heavy work but its a worthy trade off, the Native isn't excellent at every task, no knife is, but its a very good multi tasker. I've been carrying mine for a year as my primary EDC and using it for, yard work, cardboard cutting, rope work and recently on a job away from home for a month as a kitchen knife. Finish on the blade has lasted well. Takes an excellent edge but you need to work at it as the S35VN is hard. I prefer a steel that is easier to hone even though I don't have to dress the Native as often. The serrations stay sharp and are easy to maintain. If you want an all round knife but don't want to be reminded your carrying it all the time it is a great choice.

Native 5 FRN

This is my ideal everyday carry. Love the utility, size, and look of it. Admittedly, I like the weight... rather, the balance of the standard Native over this one. Otherwise, a great knife. Will undoubtedly carry it for years.

Gift for my daughter--it's not too big for her hand, it's tough, it's not heavy, it looks great, and who doesn't appreciate that Spyderco hole?
