Excellent field sharpener

Great sharpener. Very compact. Ceramics are the best polishing stones. Wish they sold the fine sharpener like this. It is hard to find. Would highly recommend. The picture doesn't do this sharpener justice. Wait till you see it up close. It's a lot nicer than it looks in the picture. The picture doesn't capture the actual shape.

Clean no mess sharpening

Not needing oil or water makes these Spyderco ceramic sharpening stones preferable. They do need to be cleaned with detergent and a scrubbing pad after each use to be effective.

Quality

great for that razor edge finishing touch.i prefer medium grit so i would say it would be tough to need a knife sharper than you could get it with this rod. good and long for those long draw blades. from kitchen knives to to camping blades this one is sure to get plenty of use in my household. havn't had a chance to use the groove down the center but i'm sure i will at some point in the future.

Must have for anyone needing to sharpen anything

I have had the medium and fine versions for years and recently broke the medium one. I bought a new one immediately upon finding one at the Knife Center. These files can put a wicked edge on a knife, and works great on serrated ones. I have sharpened everything from tools to fishhooks, and even used it to do a fret cleanup on my old guitar. This is a must have addition to whatever sharpening methods you are currently using. I must also mention that Knife Center had the product in my hands exactly when they said it would be. Bottom line: Great product from a great retailer.
