A must have knife

A outstanding knife that is very comfortable to hold. It holds a sharp edge after making many cuts. Great for cutting kindling for a fire, or for any cutting. The handle insures a secure grip, wet or dry. I highly recommend this knife with MagnaCut.

Very happy with this knife. PM2 is a knife I have carried for a long time, so getting one in MagnaCut was a no brainer. I love the steel. Knife shipped quickly, blade centered with great F/F. Love it!

New favorite EDC

Still on the factory edge. Lots of light to medium use and with a couple minutes stopping it's good to go. Spyderco does a great job with MagnaCut. I also have a Para 3 Salt. I wasn't sure if DLC coating would be all it's cracked up to be, but I'm sold. Not going to take a wire brush to it but I'm not going to baby it either. I did replace the clip with a deep carry from Lynch.

Fantastic knife, the handle has very good texturing to it. The action on the knife is great, really good fidget action. The blade is a very good length overall, good for cutting through thicker boxes and stuff like that. Very good coating on the blade, high quality materials.

Best full size pocket knife ever.

This is my first Spyderco knife, I was not disappointed. I wanted a "go everywhere, do everything." kind of knife and this fits that perfectly. I live near the ocean and a lot of water so I wanted a knife that could hold together in corrosive and moist environments, I also wanted a Spyderco so I pre-ordered it in July and waited 3 months for it to arrive. Shipping itself was very fast and 3 days ahead of schedule. Spyderco has from what I've noticed has some of the best fit and finish of any knife I've bought before. SUPER fidgety, light weight, super sharp, grippy, and amazing ergos. I've never owned a Spyderco before and was a bit surprised by how big it was, it's not massive, but also a bit bigger than most EDC pocket knifes that I own. The standard pocket clip was a bit tight and high in the pocket so I got a deep carry clip, that's my only nitpick.

My pointer finger hurts from fidgeting with it so much, which I wouldn't really call a bad thing. Action is buttery smooth, especially when you add oil. Tolerances from factory are crisp and no wabble whatsoever in the blade, it feels like a fixed blade when deployed, which is expedited from a knife of this level. It is a bit pricey, even when not paying MSRP, but it is very high quality and extremely well made. The blade is super slicey and sharp right out of the box, feels hard working, but not hard use. I'm not gonna baton a 5" log with it but it's more than durable to handle day to day cutting needs.

The compression lock comes next to none, it's really strong and easy to manipulate. Paired with Spyderco's iconic finger hole, this is one of the most easy to deploy and use folding pocket knifes that I own.

Overall, this knife is the best pocket knife that I've ever bought, not just because of the quality, but also because of the little details and refinements that really make this knife and other PM2s stand out amongst the crowd. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and I am sure you will be too.

Just what I needed.

I live on an island in Florida and wanted something that I could carry in board shorts. PM2 Salt seems like a good option, so far. I like the flat G10 scales because they easily carry between board shorts and skin, without chafing or rust concerns. Even if I go for a quick swim or sweat all over it, the knife rinses clean and a few drops of oil get it back on top. The blade came very sharp and centered with zero play. I like the full flat grind and thin tip are great for cleaning fish. Overall, it a great EDC blade. High quality components, smooth operation, minimal moving parts, reliable manufacturer, versatile blade shape...what's not to love?

I Get It Now

I had heard wonderful things about Sypderco and the PM2 design but thought they looked awkward and could not possibly be comfortable to use. The combination of the Magnacut blade and the textured G10 scales allowed me to get past my bias and give this knife a try. As soon as I held the knife I got it and was an immediate convert. Every aspect of this knife is engineering perfection. Mine was so perfect in every area than I immediately ordered a second knife. The second knife was perfect as well. If you have the same misconception as I did do yourself a favor and order this knife, you will never regret the purchase. The blade arrived sharpened to perfection, it is an awesome slicer. The grinds are well aligned. The compression lock performance is amazing. This design allows for ease of opening and closing that is almost as fast as an automatic. And the safe flick ability adds to my overall satisfaction with the knife. I can’t see myself ever buying a folding knife that is not a Sypderco. This is the ultimate EDC IMHO.

An excellent Magnacut knife

This knife is surprisingly very light. The opening is so smooth and fast. The Magnacut steel is extremely sharp, great for cutting up boxes, food or just about anything. Blade and handle look exceptional and feels comfortable to hold. One of my favorite Spydercos I have.

First impressions

Mine just arrived. Great feeling scales...I don't think I'll swap them. I'm not a coated blade kind of dude...but the blacked out aesthetic is great. Slicing is crisp and clean, sharp very pokey, classic compression lock. Long term...it should hold up well. Pocket clip little tight on that rough G-10..but no deal breaker

High strength, high edge retention, high corrosion resistance, super grippy g10 scales. What's not to love? This knife checks a lot of boxes, and you can't go wrong. My other pm2 is maxamet, so I wanted the salt as well for the corrosion resistance. I will probably change the clip however, as I like a deeper carry.

Great fishing pocket knife

This pm2 stands out from the other pm2’s as far as being a reliable Spyderco fishing pocket knife weather I’m ice fishing all the way up to saltwater fishing and anything in between First of all the blade geometry and how well it pierces and slices and hardly takes any space in my pocket is a plus for me as well as the ergonomics of how it fits my hand so well while making cuts with that grippy g10 when my hands get wet or slimy and the tough corrosion resistant easy to field sharpen blade and marine grade hardware make it wonderful do what Spyderco recommends as far as-maintenance/cleaning after each fishing trip and it’s going to serve the average recreational fisherman well for quite some time

Best PM2 Yet!

Spyderco nailed it with this version! As soon as I held it, I knew these scales were going to be awesome. Best stock Spydie scales ever with plenty of traction. The action is super smooth out of the box and this Magnacut blade is wickedly sharp! I instantly swapped out the stock clip with a black Ti LynchNW and now it’s perfect!

one of my favorites

I love that it's magnacut, and it's a pm2. I love that I got it on sale. It just feels right. The only thing I wanted to do when I got the knife was switch out the scales to something more premium that went with the black coated blade. I can't say it was a con because I knew going into it that that's what I wanted to do. The scales aren't bad, they are just not exciting or premium feeling. Anyway, thank you knife center!

Maybe the best EDC out there today !

I am a collector and connoisseur of all things sharp. I have a large collection, but chose to carry a Para 2 SV110 for years as my "Won't cry if I break it" utility knife, (along with a primary tactical knife). I also sharpen my own knives with a passion for ultra sharp knives you can shave with. I bought this Para 2 in MagnaCut a few months ago. Very impressed ! The only knives that come nearly as sharp from the factory are Bradford fixed blades. I'm a big fan of the Magna Cut steel. Way better than any of the "tool steels" out there on just about every performance criteria. Edge retention is the best I've ever seen, but when you do need to sharpen it, best to have invested in diamond stones. It's my new EDC and while I would cry if I broke it, I don't worry too much as this thing is tough ! Don't balk at the price. This knife is high quality, and it will be in your pocket for the next 40 years...

Crazy sharp out of the box

This is my new EDC and even though It only showed up today I know I'll be carrying it for a long long time. My other knives are going to be jealous. The scales are nice and grippy while still being comfortable. Very smooth opening onehanded. My first Magnacut blafe, and I'm looking forward to lots of edge retention time. Did I mention sharp out of the box? Yea, 130 on the BESS tester, and still toothy enough to cleanly cut rope while still push cutting paper. Whoever they have sharpening their knives, they are doing a great job. The blade shape is perfect for my tastes, slight curve with very sharp pointy end. I would have prefered a button lock instead of the compression lock, but I'll live with it. Fast shiping also from Knifecenter, got it in two days.

Perfect EDC for wet environment

Excellent example of an all weather, wet environment EDC. Just rec’d and am in lust with these new scales. Super grippy yet very comfy to the touch. My favorite lock (compression) due to the ease of operation. My favorite blade steel (Magnacut) with a hair popping sharpness. Perfect size with great ergos including nice choke up spot with great jimping. Now all I need is time to tell me how this knife will hold up to daily field use. With some care it will probably be forever. Next I need the black/yellow Salt version. Can only hope it’s as good as this one….from the Heart_O_Tex

Get Salty

Have 5 or six other Spyderco knives but this my first pm2. Initially ordered a pm2 in cpm s45vn but it arrived with a chip in the blade and dlc came off just with rubbing it so it is on it’s on the way back! Saw this version of the pm2 Salt and decided to give it a try. Arrived quickly as usual and nicely ptotected by styrofoam. Nothing fancy in Spyderco packaging….. knife in plastic rapper, instruction/care manual, and small spyderco sticker. The knife itself is a real looker with the black textured handle scales and classic spydie shaped 3.4 inch blade in black magnacut. The handle is quite comfortable and feels good in all grips and the texture makes it very grippy and feels very secure in hand and not likely to slip even in wet conditions. No sharp edges except the blade. Of course it came literally hair shaving sharp ( yes, I tried ). The blade action is good right out of the box but I expect it to improve even more with use and a few drops of pivot lube. Blade is perfectly centered and the compression lock is rock solid. Absolutely no blade play in any direction. The four position pocket clip allows for various carry options. I changed the clip to a deep carry one and it just about disappears in the pocket. Along with its light weight you will hardly know it’s there This is going right to an edc and I expect it will be in my rotation for years to come.

Fantastic knife

This finally came back into stock and I jumped on it. I love the scales so much more than the already fantastic Spyderco G10 scales. Spending quite a bit of time in salty environments, this knife is exactly what I need for my daily carry when I’m in and around saltwater. Highly recommended. I don’t love the pocket clip, because while very sturdy and tight to hold the knife in place, it is anything but deep carry but that will get sorted with an aftermarket clip. Otherwise, the knife is perfect as is.

Great knife out of the box

This is a great knife out of the box. The only reason I gave it four stars was because of how annoying the lock stick was. A little bit of oil and adjusting the pivot helped this, but the lock was very stiff trying to wear for a while. Other Spydercos I have bought before did not have this issue.
