Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Handle Material, Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip
Cons: None
Love it, so far
This is a big knife that carries like a mid-size, as far as I’m concerned. My only initial beef was that the lock was pretty stiff, but it’s getting better the more I play with it, so not very worried about that. The lock takes a little getting used to, as I’m more familiar with button locks, liners, etc. The pivot is smooth and quick, the blade is sharp as he** out of the box, and centered exactly. There’s nice (well defined, but not shard) jimping on the blade that contrasts with the texture on the liners - you kind of intuitively know where you thumb belongs, based on the feel of the texturing. The handles are nice and grippy, and it fits my XL hand perfectly. The only change I’d make if I could would be to make the clip a little deeper so it rides lower in the pocket. I’m looking forward to using it and getting a sense of how the SPY27 holds an edge and sharpens. Overall, it’s a great option if you like a bigger knife, and it’s Spyderco, so you know it’ll hold up.
