Pros: Weight, Ease of Opening, Handle Material, Pocket Clip, Blade Material, Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
Best Buy for the price!
Byrd Cara Cara2 translates all Spyderco quality and performance. I bought this knife to be a substitute for the G10 version, that offers a very tactical look, so it is more "all environment" knife. The Cara2 Stainless Steel handles is some more heavy weight, but still very thin shape and fits very well even in tight pockets. The satin finish stainless steel handles are very soft in hands, but the ergos allow a very nice grip (not so grippy than G10 version, sure). Backlocks are 100% ambidextrous and as I am left hand, this lock is very useful and make me feel that I am using a knife made for myself. Also the 4 positions clip make it fully ambidextrous knife and is perfect for me that use left side tip up carry. The blade opens easy with Byrd "Comet" Hole and allow all opening techniques with any possible grip. As all Spyderco knives, Cara2 with 8Cr13MoV steel is trully sharp out of the box and the steel is very easy to resharpen even with a ceramic mug. Overall quality make me feel 100% satisfied, IMO no other knife reach the presented quality for that price. if you are looking for performance, good look and feel, I advice you to buy two Cara2 instead one Endura, being one G10 and one Stainless Steel handles, take both and with the money saved, go with both knives in their boxes take a good coffee in a good place and allow you 1 hour checking and looking your new knives. Will be a very good time and a good investment! There is not possible to go wrong with Cara2! Forget Endura, Tenacious, or other overpriced knives. Cara2 is known as "poor mens Endura", so let this underdog serve you faithfully whenever you need it!
