My New Spyderco

Recieved my Street Bowie today, very pleased, not use to large knives but this is fine, well balanced. Read reviews, not on this sight, about sheath grommet rattle, and balance issues. Both are not true, mine is solid found balance point fairly quickly. Also read that rubber insert is slippery, that also is not true. This is now one of my favorite knives. Thank you knife Center for selling fine products. Knife Center shipped promptly, all my merchandise the same day I ordered. Experience that have occurred for Me, very few times from other merchants. Once again, thank you Knife Center.

Street Bowie

I am impressed by this knife. It is extremely comfortable in the hand. Have been using it more in the kitchen than outside, but it is on my belt since acquired. I have my own belt sharper and improved the factory sharp to super sharp. The all black knife and sheath make for discrete carry and no one seems to notice it. Very pleased Spyderco!

Spyderco Street Bowie

Very light knife meant for tactical or light duty use. Very sharp out of box. Outstanding sheath can use with or without a belt because the belt clip has such tight retention.

Love It

This is a great fixed blade knife! It's slim and well balanced also. The clip is multidirectional so it can be worn however you want. It was sharp out of the box and has been a great EDC

I love it !

I was looking for an EDC knife, mainly for SD. The Street Bowie has the right size and and weight that permits concealed carry. It's 5" blade is the right size (long enough to make a difference, small enough to be concealable), VG-10 is easy to maintain and tough enough for anything realistic you could do. It's a no-nonsense design, I like that. The ergonomics are nearly perfect but I don't really like the look and feeling of the handle material even though it's grip is steady and smooth and quite good in reverse. Really good balance too. The finish is neat and clean, it's flawless, the blade is sharp enough for a day-to-day use, but not for shaving (use a razor blade, silly). The sheath is allright and I like the G-Clip attachment, three cons though : - it's a bit noisy when you draw the blade ; - they use torx screw and ; - it lacks holes for an horizontal carry configuration. Anyway, at this price it's really good knife you can count on.

Nice light fixed blade

I have always liked the look of this knife and jumped on the new re-released model. The first thing I noticed is the weight, it is very light (maybe too light?) It makes me wonder how much tang is under that FRN handle. On a size note it is the same overall length as a Military (with 1 inch taken from the handle and added to the blade) the sheath is nice with good retention (slight rattle might upset some users) the fit and finish is good, blade coating is even and the grinds are clean. I bought this knife to wear horizontally on my belt while hiking and fishing. While I don't think it will batton through trees too well, For a light duty, food prep, self defence roll this knife should perform perfectly.

street bowie review

Good knife, great balance, only problem i have with the knife is the handle is a little slippy, especially the bottom of it, i think some aggressive jimping would of worked great here, unusual maybe but as its primarily a tactical knife why not? The sheath is good but i think the design of the g-clip is terrible, yes its multi carry system might be a good idea but the tongue on clip is too long for inverted carry, it hits the top bulge in the sheath, im gonna cut the tongue off mine, terrible, also its very difficult to actually clip the sheath on or take back off track bottoms, havent tried it on a belt yet but i know its gonna be the same, the problem is there is no give on the bend on the clip, its way too ridged, maybe it will soften but i doubt it, its designed to fit a narrow belt but you ll be quicker taking off the belt to get it on and off, my knife was shaving sharp outta box, great delivery time from knifecentre, ordered from Europe 25/11 9-30pm arrived 28/11 12-30pm- amazing!!

Great Knife, horrid sheath.

I got the knife as a self-defense piece, and the knife itself is excellent: Good grip, perfect length, very sharp, extremely light and great build quality. The only problem is the sheath. Now I love Spyderco, but the sheath on this thing is hot garbage. It's not Kydex or Boltaron, it's some sort of plastic, and based on my experience, I suspect it has glass fibers in it, or is at the very least poorly designed. The sheath dulls the edge. When I put the knife in, the blade is sharp enough to easily shave hair with, and is noticeably aggressive in it's cutting, after 2 or 3 times in and out of the sheath, or wearing the knife on a belt all day, it's unable to shave and loses most of it's aggressive, toothy edge. Either the sheath contains an abrasive, or it's designed in such a way that it constantly wears on the edge. Both of these are unacceptable issues on a defensive carry knife, and I will be replacing the sheath. I love Spyderco, but they HAVE to step up their game on this and make kydex or boltaron sheaths, instead of this polymer.
