Coolest neck knife I have ever owned!

This is a great little knife. When I say "little", make no mistake, this is a small knife. But deadly things can come in small packages. I have no doubts that this would make an excellent self defense option. Not only that, it's so light and easy to carry that you can(and I do) carry it 24/7. It's a knife that you will always have! Never be without a knife again! How cool is that? Not enough great things to say about this blade. It deserves immense more popularity than it's lukewarm response so far. I absolutely love it.

Great little neck knife

Slinder and lightweight this is a great substitute for a pocket knife. Good factory edge, but I will be improving it as I like my knives super sharp. The release button helps me know this knife is secure in its case. I also like knowing I can wear anytime in any conditions due to its non-rusting properties.

Great knife, the concept is what I’ve been looking for and the steel is a good match for sweat and the maritime environment. It was sharp as recieved but I always put my prefered edge which was an easy task with no dificulties encountered with the steel or profile. The sheath appears to hold the knife securely but seems to be a little easy on the release?

Excellent edc carry knife. Have carried it 2 weeks now and love its light weight and very nonslip grip and most importantly its H1 steel never rust. Wish i had found this knife sooner😊

Spyderco ARK awesome little knife

Little knife with a big attitude. Great edc knife and conceals great, attached my gclip to the sheath to carry otw and you would never know it's there. Great for every day use. As ways ordering with knife center there's great customer service great inventory and super fast shipping.

Small, But Enough

Been carrying this Ark as my EDC and I think it's perfect! I use to carry folders, but they take-up too much space in the pocket! The only con I can think of is the chain, it pulls your chest hairs, lol!

Small, Useful and Practical

This little knife is really great for EDC. I personally took off the chain that came with it and just run it in my pocket. The sheath is very nice, it's retention is great and yet easy to pull out by using the tab with your index finger. I have the Spyerco Sharpmaker on order right now, going to see if I can make it even better.

2.5+ Inches (minus one star) But I Like It :)

This knife is longer than 2.5 Inches by about 1/8 inch. That matters in my city, but not my state. I'll just sharpen it down to -2.5. Speaking of sharpening, this knife is sharp enough for self defense i suppose, but the factory edge did not pass the 'paper test'. None-the-less, I like this knife for its intended purpose. It's light and I mount the knife to my backpack. I bought another for myself and one for a female friend who immediately liked it when she saw mine. But it's 2.5+ and we will see how long the sheath lasts.

Cool little knife

First off the customer service was awesome didn't receive a shipment email, emailed them and they sent the tracking and showed up shortly there after..for then knife it was a cool little neck knife felt great in my hand but is real small...as for the blade itself standard Spyderco quality.

Disappointed

I purchased an ARK as an everyday carry planning to use it occasionally in my shop. It's a nice size for an out of sight out of mind piece. I was very disappointed in the quality of construction and the blade thickness. The blade needs to be half again as thick. So does the handle. The grind on the blade was sloppy at best - very disappointing for a Spyderco product. This design is well suited for concelment but not for everyday utility use. I purchased a CRKT Minimalist as well and for half the price the quality is twice as good. I need to say it again, the quality of construction is not up to Spyderco standard.

Excellent sheath, excellent handle, good steel for wet conditions, but

I seem to be collecting neck knives in an undoubtedly futile quest to find the perfect EDC knife to open carry. The statutes in Florida, where I live, allow open carry of any blade except a ballistic knife. (Local laws vary.) The ARK has an excellent sheath that holds the knife very securely. You can draw the knife quickly and easily because your forefinger naturally presses a tab that releases the sheath lock. The handle is comfortable and provides a secure grip with the finger notch. But if you have big hands, you might prefer a bigger knife. The ARK has H1 steel. I'm happy with H1, although many people dislike H1 Steel because it does not hold an edge as well as most other non-junk steels. But where I live, it has rained every day except three out of the last six weeks, and H1 is practically rust proof. And when it is not raining, the heat index is often over 100F, so again my shirt will be wet. My EDC knife is a Spyderco Pacific Salt 2 with H1 steel--it's great (push-cuts paper), although I would love to get one with LC200N. I noticed that, out of the box, the ARK could not slice typing paper (a routine test of sharpness). H1 is easy to sharpen, so I was not terrible concerned. But ... My wife asked to borrow a knife to open an ebay package covered with tape. I handed her the ARK, which happened to be on my neck. After some struggle, she got the package open and remarked that the ARK was slightly sharper than her thumbnail. Then she tried to cut the cardboard seal on top of a jug of fertilizer. The ARK failed. Her thumbnail succeeded. I did some more sharpness testing. Out of dozens of knives that I have bought, the ARK was the second dullest out of the box. Spyderco is known for making high-quality sharpening instruments, yet they ship a knife that is about as sharp as a common butter knife. Spyderco should be embarrassed. I usually do not downrate a knife for being a bit dull out of the box, but this is an extreme case.

Sheath is ruining the blade!

This is a great knife. Spyderco is a great company and I love their quality. The sheath is a completely different story. I've got a few neck knives with various sheaths and none of them have caused actual damage to the blade. I pulled the blade out the first time and saw a huge scratch on this brand new blade because of something on the inside. I was devastated! I was so careful. I also hear something scratching the blade when I lock it in place. Spyderco needs to make a new sheath! I wanted to make this my new EDC, but now I'm afraid of what sort of damage the sheath will do. VERY disappointed.

Bad product.

I purchased the product for its designed purpose and upon receipt I began to practice the deployment of the knife. The faster I was able to deploy, the faster the 'polymer' sheath began to wear as shavings of the polymer would come out with the knife. The sheath wore to the point that the 'safety' on the knife was useless and I could just pull the knife without any safety present. Total waste of money on my part. I stopped wearing it after about one week. I like the blade and the handle but the sheath isn't up to the task.
