Beautiful unique Bowie/Hunter knife

A lot of Bowies try to impress with heft and size, but this one succeeds in balancing that with usability. You won't be chopping down trees with this, but if you have it on your belt, it won't weigh your pants down and it will do what you want. The knife is crazy sharp out of the box, and the workmanship is very good. The leather used to make the sheath is gorgeous, but I would expect that from a knife made in New Zealand. It also has a space to insert Svord's diamond sharpening steel. Very convenient, but you may have to search the internet to find a place that has them in stock. The other thing that is unique about this knife is the steel. It's super high quality Swedish high carbon tool steel in three layers. The heat treatment process brings it up to Rockwell 59 to 60. I couldn't find this info anywhere online, but it is in the literature. The red logo on the handle is a sticker, so you can peel it right off and just have the beautiful wood. The finish has some grain to it, so it's "grippy". This is the kind of knife that you could carry on your belt to do most any sort of heavy work you'd need to. It's a perfect blend between fixed hunter and Bowie all in one.

Great grip

This knife is my first purchase from Svord and I have to say I think I got a great value for the price tag. The guard in particular feels very good in the hand, good to work with. I don't know why more fix blade knives don't have the guard at this angle.
