Facsimile of 19th century fighting Bowie.
The Svord Coffin Handled Bowie is a fantastic facsimile of a classic coffin handle 19th century fighting Bowie. It is very well made and the blade is constructed of EN45, a Swedish high carbon tool steel. This steel is tough as nails. Svord's proprietary heat treat undoubtedly contributes to the toughness of the steel. It's very sharp! The knife has the proprietary Baker Convex Edge which seems like a cross-between a convex edge and a chisel grind. It's very sharp, which is the only thing that matters. I shaved hair off my arm with it shortly after unpacking the blade. The Bowie is well balanced and quick in the hand. Aesthetically it's a beauty! The only quibble I have is that the edge ends almost two inches above the guard. I would have preferred the edge extend another half inch or so. If you like, as I do, traditional looking fighting Bowies then I heartily recommend the Svord Coffin Handled Bowie!
