My knife came razor sharp out of package and was well coated in oil for rust protection. The friction folder pivot is surprisingly tighter than I expected and makes me feel safer using it. I love the new brass riveted sheaths. It was shipped and delivered quickly. Knifecenter quickly and accurately answered all of my emails. I thank them for helping me get my new knife!
Came sharp and oiled nicely. Beautiful knife they can open one handed and just has that old school feel. Only thing I don't like is the stealth it comes with is a little to tight. But it fits perfect into your watch pocket on jeans so it is of little issue. Can't recommend this little guy enough as a fast back up edc!
We use these knives to cut rope dragged through sand for a small tent company. They work in the rain, snow and the roughest of conditions. They are abused because they are USED! No babysitting at all. If they are wiped dry at the end of the day that's a bonus. They are sharpened on Japanese water stones in less than a minute each. 1K to get out the dents and bumps and 6k for a polish. Then back to battery. If they get lost no one loses any sleep. I buy a dozen at a time both the big ones and the small ones. What's great is they cut through rope with no complaint. They cut until they get dull and then a few strokes on a stone and they cut again. They are light so you will carry it without noticing you have it on you. The bright colors are easy to see in the dark when you put it down and forget it someplace. They are so cheap that who cares if you lose one. I love that knife for what it does. It has no pretense other than to cut.
Really sharp and handy knife. It's a little too bulky to keep on your keys, but too small just to keep in your pocket. I'd recommend going with the mini instead, but I'm still happy with it.
This is my 3rd Svord Peasant so I knew what I was getting myself into. Though a smaller knife, it's perfect for daily tasks around the office. The brass handle is very shiny but will fingerprint the moment you pick it up. The duller copper might be a better choice. Mine actually arrived a bit dull, a first from a Svord for me, but with only a dozen swipes of a sharpener, the thing was cutting hairs on my arm. I take no points off for it arriving dull-- knives always need sharpened at some point. My only point off is for the not quite perfect fit of the handles, but other than that, this is a fantastic, non-threatening knife to pull out at a moment's notice.
Pros: Weight, Ease of Opening, Blade Material, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Handle Feel, Lock Ease of Use
Not bad but..
I bought this little old style buddy as my edc/toy. This knife was razor sharp straight out of the box, and I was very impressed by the blade itself. Suede sheath was also very nice with good overall quality. The knife came very oily since it has a high carbon steel blade so it was not a problem. However, there were some serious downside of this knife. Firstly, the screw on the handle was so sharp which hurt my finger several times. I ended up grinding off the screws. I do not know what the screw is made up of, but the grinding was not a big issue. Second problem was the blade tip. When the blade is closed, the tip is not fully covered by the handle!!! This means the sharp niddle tip is sticking out from your pocket which can lead to potential damage. Now I understand why they gave me this nice little sheath. The sheath is not an extra, it was a necessity. Eventhough the overall quality suffers, I do like this old fashioned knife, and I think it will be good for outdoor uses, not a city life based edc.
