Great general use knife

I have not used this long or for many things that would really test its metal so to speak and I have not tried to attach it to a gun, but this is a really nice knife for general camping use when you want a big knife but not a as big as a machete. Handle edges a little sharp on the hand and sheath starches the blade a little bit. Sheath is nice and sturdy. Comes very sharp. Good weight.

M-9 Bayonet

I was first introduced to the M-9 bayonet when I was in the Army. Every time you signed out your M-16 (before the newer models were out) you also signed out the M-9. I used this knife quite a bit. The wire cutting ability is exceptional. Used it most often for concertina wire. Good all around heavy duty knife. I was also a Drill Instructor for my last 2 years in the Army, which included teaching the manual of arms, which includes bayonet training. I loved teaching this class to trainees. Hate to blow my own horn but I put the word "SPIRIT" in the Spirit of the Bayonet.

Everything I Expected

I'm retired, so I do what I love most: build D-M4 carbines and 1911 pistols for gifts to my family and it keeps me busy. I just completed a D-M4 carbine for one son, and I told him to choose a bayonet from the Knife Center, and he chose this one. (for its looks I'm sure) The blade is heavy enough to serve it's intended purpose and the edge was adequately sharp and easily fine tuned with a stone. The sheath was a little cheesy but functional enough to protect the blade. My only actual negative comment is the handle material which is your basic cheap Taiwanese plastic. I have seen several of these S&W's at the range with broken or chipped handles, and I found that most were broken when the user was trying to chop wood or clear brush when camping. Just be aware that if it gets hit by a hard object, it will probably crack, but that will not affect its performance as a bayonet. Overall, it is worth the money as it has a terrifying appearance which would strike fear into anyone attacking you, and it will perform very well as a bayonet if you ever should need it for that.

Excellent product at a good price.

For the price, you can't beat the deal. Just need the barrel mounting lug for it to fit properly.

Great addition to your gun

There is something special about such a sleek looking bayonet on a Remington 870 shotgun. I believe this is a little shorter than the M7 bayonet, but it's aggressive look and black blade make it an awesome fit on your shotgun or AR.

Very nice effect

I bought this to put on a new AR15 build I just finished for my nephew, and it is perfect. I have read other reviews putting this knife down because it doesn't chop wood well, it's not a balanced throwing knife, it won't shave your arm hair, yada, yada. Well, I tell you what - a bayonet is for stabbing someone in the body or the face... period! If someone gets so close to you that you need to stop them NOW, this will do that job. It's terrifying to look at, and the sight of one of these coming at your chest would stop any reasonable fool. If you want a camping knife, buy a camping knife. Want to chop wood, get a hatchet. The only con is the handle is plastic, but believe me... it only has to work the one time you need it, and that handle will be the least of your worries.

Great Quality

Got this knife as a birthday present for my husband, it was much larger than I thought it would be, and it came with a holder. He loved it, I would highly recommend.

Bayonet, yes it is...

For the price, I'm eminently satisfied. Two quirks, the plastic handle, won't hold up to rugged use, enjoy wrapping it for hours with dummy cord....Secondly, the powder coat in the attachment point, for the wire cutter on the sheath, was crazy thick. Enjoy using a rotary tool to take just enough off to make it work. The balance of the materials was of a fine quality, don't be afraid to purchase this.

Really good knife

I think it's a really awesome knife. I bought it because it looks so nice and I like to collect knifes. The weight is pretty well balanced and the knife is really really sharp. Only negative point is, that the nice black finish gets off the knife real quick. Nevertheless totally worth the investment

Great knife

It's razor sharp with good grip and weight. But the sheath was kind of tight and it gets a small scratch on the knife every time I put it in and out the sheath. Other than that, everything else is great!

Looks good on the wall or on your rifle.

Looks good. Feels good cuts good as well. Basically it. i got really disappointed on how easy the finish on the blade comes of, in and out of the sheath tears it pretty good. nice knife. bad finish.
