Another Bang For The Buck Knife From Smith & Wesson

Wow, another bang for the buck knife from Smith & Wesson. I just received this knife earlier today (5/9/24). It was well packaged and in excellent condition. While inspecting it I did notice that the main blade wasn't quite set into the handle which likely caused the tang at the pommel to be slightly recessed. The gap was about 1/16th in., very small. Other than that everything about the knife was excellent. There was no rattling from the hand guard. The blade was sharp. And the overall knife felt very solid. While I wouldn't call the knife heavy duty, it definitely look's like it is capable of fulfilling its purpose for search and rescue tasks. However, I did find it odd that it didn't come with a rasp on the spine. I understand that many military and first responders make use of rasps during emergencies. My 5" and 7" M&P knives have excellent rasps on them. The handle was a little narrow in diameter. Would of been nice if it was wider. The nylon sheath is plain and simple but good quality. Would of been nice if there were molle attachments on the back to allow other ways to carry the knife beyond a belt loop. But overall, I give the Smith & Wesson Search and Rescue knife a 5 out of 5. Good job, Smith & Wesson!
