Perfection

This knife is perfect. The grind on the blade is symmetrical and beautiful. The handle is beautiful stacked leather and very comfortable. The sheath is nice thick leather and well designed. Overall I love it!

Dream knife

David C Anderson says it well, when, in his video on this knife, he holds it comfortably to his chest, and just takes a breath... As though all is right with the world. This knife and specifically this company produces such fine quality, you feel as though you do not need any other knife, ever again. Well, as this is my third purchase of a Fallkniven, eventually I was pulled into another purchase of their outstanding quality of knife. The stacked leather handle feels natural, solid, but pliable, you know it will age with you as the owner through the years. I would prefer a locksafe sheath, but cannot complain about the fine quality leather provided for this sheath. Beautiful blade, perfect length for any task you may dream up, and a convex profile of perfection that can be expected from this brand. AND, quite surprisingly light and agile.

Not exactly what I expected, but better in many ways

Listening to the Dutch Bushcraft Knives crew and DCA, you would expect this knife to be just as close to perfect as you could get, and looks good doing so. It is slicy, for a full convex, beefy blade that is, very sharp spine, great sheath, outstanding blade length and shape, etc. What they don't tell you is how slim this knife really is. This is not just a survivor or bushcraft knife, but can easily double as an EDC knife. the leather handle is long enough for XL hands and then some, contoured beautifully, and just feels great in hand. It is slim enough that it won't be too intrusive but full enough to be secure. I just received this knife and am already working on designing a pocketable sheath. Yes, I often carry big knives in my pocket... Silent Hero 4, ANV M25, or Lionsteel B35 to mention a few... I have over 100 knives in my collection, and this one and my Moki Bergs are at the very top the list, even over some 1 off customs. This knife is the knife you want to have on your side.

Gorgeous classic build, refined, epic performance!

Guys! This is the best NL5 yet! Don’t hesitate if you like the classic, refined build quality. COS is an excellent fine grained steel that holds a fine edge for a good amount of time and stops back like few others. It’s a great working steel if you like sticky sharp edges at all times, requiring minimal effort but some maintenance. The laminated construction makes the blade exponentially stronger, and the blade stick is surprisingly beefy at 0.20” thick. Thanks to the excellent convex grind, this knife still excels at carving (for its size) while also being a top tier splitter with plenty of strength to baton without any concern. The stacked leather is gorgeous and cleanly done. The handle ergos are narrower than I expected but it is ideal for control. Being superbly neutral but indexed with subtle shaping, the handle is a work of art in its simplicity and effectiveness. You can work with this knife all day. The sheath is the only ding for me. It’s absurdly thick. I do like the design so I built a thinner one modeled after the original. I’m enjoying this knife a great deal and I have no doubt it will outlast me. Buy one!

Let's go!

I've carried the knife everyday on my right hip, and I use it all the time. It is the best knife I've ever owned. I learned from my Dad about how to care of your knife and it will take care of you. I also learned from him about investing in good tools and equipment, because when you need them most it pays to be able to accomplish the task efficiently. A poor quality knife might break during hard use causing a painful, bleeding injury. Imagine you're out on a dark stormy night in a freezing barnyard needing to cut loose a real good horse who is panicked and in pain from a stray baling twine around his legs. Being in your flip flops and using the light from your wife's cell phone you approach him over hard frozen crunches, as you feel the familiar leather sheath on your hip, and simple snap with you're right hand. Your left is reassuringly on the horse's shoulder. Drawing the sharp knife instinctively, and confidently with a full grip in a cold right hand and zip he's free, and thankful. You then say to you're loving wife "Let's Go!'". It's one of the reasons she, and so many folks and animals love you, you can resolve problems and make them look easy. Yeah I love the knife, I whittled a bow and arrow with my grandson before his bedtime last night. I know that he was impressed with Pawpaw when he repeatedly uttered wows at my shavings and chops of willow. I love him, and he's only five. I know that when I'm gone the knife will be his when his "Dadoo", as he calls my son, passes it to him. I know you deserve it too, you know that everybody needs you, and you need to get it done with this reliable knife. Let's go!

The workmanship on this knife is impeccable. Its an end game fixed blade. Leaving nothing to yearn. A work of art scabbard is beautiful. This is an heirloom knife
