For a 40$ otf I am impressed. One handed operation was possible for me, but I have big hands. Decent steel no blade play on mine and it’s heavy..but in a good way. Good option for those than want an otf without selling a kidney.

Just a cool knife
This knife has an amazing feel to it. Great weight and comes razor sharp. Legit will take your arm hair off. A tad bulky in the pocket of my jeans, but that takes nothing away from this extremely affordable knife. Also, this blade was my first purchase from knife center and I can not reiterate how quick my order arrived and how well this company communicated through email. I've already returned for another purchase just a few weeks later.

I am a collector of unique style knives. The Smith and Wesson knife is a well built OTF knife and has a nice style. The operating mechanism takes a little bit of practice to get use to, but works well.

use this knife at work to cut away plastic wrap off wrapped pallets and to cut strapping on pallets. this model fits nicely into pocket and my hand as well. It is nicely balanced, and constructed well. Nice knife at a fair price and fast shipping.

Love the 2 that I have & getting another spear blade.
Can't go wrong, Smith and wesson warranty, I love the finger assist quick and easy to open. Once you get used to it you will never go back to a flip open. I have gotten used to operating it in eather hand.

Decent knife
I bought it for my daughter. Decent knife, works smoothly. It requires a bit of strength to retract the blade, so it might not be ideal for a small girl.

Interesting design
This is my first OTF assisted opening knife. I do find that retracting the blade is a little awkward, but not a big deal.

A Great Bargin on a Menicing Blade
For an inexpensive blade I'm very please. I suspect that with repeated use the spring mechanisim would weaken but this is a 40 dollar OTF, not 400. Be aware, closing is a two handed process. Also, press the slide trigger with purpose and it will lock everytinme. I use it as a deterant/self-defense - I've opened it once under threat and that's all that was required.

Scary knife
Given the double edge blade, very sharp, this knife has more design flaws than any knife I've ever handled. First the blade does deploy quickly, difficult at best to retract the blade. The tip of the blade is exposed when fully retracted. Just NO way this menace goes in my pocket. Needs a big red safety for locking this menace. A bigger button for retracting the blade would be good. A basic show and tell item with no EDC usefulness. I wouldn't even offer this knife on my website. Would not recommend.

Not great for self-defense
Not a great design. The blade retractor near the base of the blade would be way too easy to automatically press in a self-defense situation, which would cause the blade to retract, and the only way to get the blade back out and fixed again would be to retract it fully and re-deploy it from scratch, not something you'd want to be fumbling with at the time. If they moved the blade retractor button somewhere more out of the way, or even angled it differently or made it smaller, it would be a perfect knife, but in its current form it's a fatal flaw. I'd rather go with the Schrade Viper 3. It's a little more awkward to open, but its blade retract button is a bit harder to accidentally depress, and if you would manage to, it's easy to re-fix the blade by pushing it back up a little with your thumb until it clicks back into place, something that can't be done with this SWOTF9B.

Stop closing after 2 months
Love this knife for 2 months - now the blade will not close all the way - tip of blade is sticking out - serious Hazzard - totally useless at this point - hope warranty still good.

Not “Double Action”
I have no idea what anyone would use a knife like this for. It opens easily enough. Once. Then you have to use both hands to yank on this crazy lever to retract the thing. My wife didn’t even have the hand strength to retract it. It has a safety, so that’s just something else to fumble with to deploy it. Horrible knife. Absolutely horrible.
