An EDC for any occasion!

Had my eye on a James Carter for awhile, so when I "discovered" the Carter XL at this price I jumped. Lives up to the reviews on fit and finish; perfectly centered, and a great blade shape. I love VG-10 for the edge I can coax from it. Switched the clip for left carry, but I found the knife too hard to get from my pocket smoothly. Switched that over to the lanyard clip that comes with the knife and ordered a lanyard to fix that issue. Next I found that the lanyard clip has pronounced corners that dug into my palm when operating the knife, especially closing. No problem. A little work on a grinder belt to smooth out the corners and then polish it and then was very comfortable in my palm. Still gave this knife five stars because the knife/handle itself is superlative. This is a keeper.

Clean and classy design

I've been looking for an EDC folder that was just a bit special, a bit more refined than your literal everyday knives. I noticed the clean design, no clutter, the nice elegant lines that showed a bit of Loveless drop point DNA. I know this brand bugs some people, but I honestly don't see it. The price is right in the pack with most everything else that's made this well, and the materials are fine. Some *very* fancy knives are made out of VG10, folks. And I shouldn't have to say this about any knife in this price range but I swear they maybe do quality control. Everything you check on a new knife you've never handled before was just as it should be. No disappointments, nothing to settle for. Just a knife that performs well and looks good doing it.
