Great Survival Knife

This knife is great for outdoor sportsman/sportswoman. This is a very thick heavy knife which has a reasonable quality steel. In my opinion this knife is much too heavy at 22 ounces for anything other than outdoor survival or camping. Overall it is a great quality knife which honours the rangers for their valliant efforts. The only drawback is the steel which needs to be maintained with light oil or it will rust. I use this knife in the wilderness on camping expeditions and it has not let me down. A great purchase, thanks knifecenter.

My favorite knife!

This is a heavy, thick bladed, fighting knife. While it looks to be an unlikely dagger, the balance and upswept point make it an excellent thrusting knife. The blade is a bit thick for slicing potato chips, but it won't break. The steel and temper are second to none.

Excellent general purpose knife

I've used this knife for more than three years for a variety of tasks. It is the knife I use to split deer sternums. It's weight and mass make doing so a fairly easy task. It works well for some of the much of the other tasks associated with processing deer but it is a little too thick for skinning and some of the other more detailed work. My knife had a slight mismatch grind on the edge. The edge is so hard that it took a while to correct it but once it was corrected, it has held it's edge quite well, allowing me to process several deer without needing to touch up the edge. I've used it for a variety cutting tasks other than deer processing and it has never failed to do it's job. My only criticism is that I would have appreciated an ambidextrous friendly sheath.

Awesome Knife, Sheath Junk

The knife itself is top shelf! The design, weight, fit, finish, edge, forward thrust, aesthetics, are all beyond reproach. I love the grip and the feel in my hand. However, I cannot quickly, smoothly, or safely remove this knife from the sheath. It is so darn tight. Try to take a slammed wedge out of an oak log with axle grease fingers. It is a cheap 25 cent plastic piece of junk.
