Superb Blade!

I own several knives from TOPS but this is quick becoming a favorite. I keep it in the kitchen and it can handle just about anything you throw at it. Slices tomatoes incredibly thin, cuts through meat like its butter, and has an excellent steel that is easy to keep razor sharp using only a good butcher's steel. I would love to make it an EDC but the sheath is the only drawback. Not really made for carry, as it does not come with a belt clip. The kydex sheath itself is a bit thin and flimsy, but does its job keeping the knife in a kitchen drawer. I am considering a custom upgrade for the sheath to make this my permanent EDC. Another winner from TOPS! Get one, you will not be disappointed.

So much more than a kitchen knife

Sure, it will do a fine job in your home kitchen but with it’s good steel, and superb handle it’s ready for much more. I’ve been looking for a food-prep-focused outdoors knife for camping, tailgating and backyard bbq and this fits that bill. Whereas many fixed blade knives of similar size go for a thicker steel, this is closer to what you find on 3.5” folders. So it’s perfectly capable of doing anything you would do with that sort of knife but with the added stability and better handle of a fixed blade.

I like this knife so much it just makes me mad

I have a bunch of Tops, Lionsteel, a Bradford Guardian, Smith and Sons, and more, all bought in the pursuit of a pocketable fixed blade that was as easy to carry, robust, excellent to grip, etc. as this thing is. The knife is the perfect length for EDC, excellent blade geometry, great steel, great looks, excellent handle shape, materials and colors... this is pretty much the top EDC fixed blade in my collection. Haven't beat on it yet, but I am sure it is Tops tough too. I put an Ulticlip 3.3 on my sheath and once in the pocket, it is easy to forget the knife is even there. Fits great even in relatively shallow pockets and draws easily enough to use it with lighter weight pants. Only gripe is the edge is not as clean as I'd like, almost micro-serrated, but it still slices through thin paper with out snagging or tearing.

Great blade, bad handles, horrid sheath

I'd rate this knife as "excellent" if not for the absolutely HORRIBLE sheath and a careless, visibly bad finish of the handles... The full tang construction is solid, sure, however, the handles seam cheap and poorly thought out... The sheath deserves its own special place in the Great Book of Big Mistakes: this is an expensive knife, how could they give it such a poor, cheap sheath? Could have made it out of leather or nylon but they went with kydex and it's really sad because it screams "cheap" and also "no!!!".
