Cons: Sheath/Scabbard

Raw power, small package

First, I'm a woodworker and value the use of natural materials. The desert ironwood grips were a very nice choice for this design. And I actually bought it for use in the shop and out in the wilderness for the occasional hike. As I'm a huge fan of over-engineered products, the 1/4" thick blade caught my eye and that's what ultimately led to the purchase. Not that I want to pry anything with it but in a hard-use environment, an over-engineered product will always last longer and be more reliable. On the table it is rather deceptive. The side profile doesn't exactly convey beefy. But in the hand, well, it is still deceptive, but at least the weight and thickness now make you understand what it is you're holding. It really is a powerhouse of a blade. Weighty, but small with a lithe blade profile. With the right grip it'll punch straight through just about anything except the obvious. Again, great for what I do because I do have the occasional 1-on-1 match with a tri-ply cardboard box and, well, I don't like those very much and they bring out a lot of teenage angst. Personally, I love it. I just wish the sheath was built with belts in mind and a retention lever/lock. Not really sure what to do with the sheath it came with. Doesn't work for my needs. It is what it is. The knife itself is still entirely worth it.
