Pros: Weight, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Blade Material, Sheath/Scabbard, Materials, Finish, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Blade Sharpness
Excellent bushcrafty/edc blade.
The TOPS Scandi Trekker is overall and awesome blade. The handle is odd looking but comfortable in every grip I use in the field. The 1/8 thickness, scandi bevel, stonewash finish, grippy micarta handles, and every other feature of this blade are just fantastic. As a lefty I am going to get a separate sheath because although the friction fit black leather sheath this knife comes with is amazing, it is no good for left-side belt carry. Furthermore if you are concerned about the the handle being too small for your hand, as a point of reference I wear a size L glove (mens) and this blade has JUST enough handle room to keep my pinky from slipping off. It reminds me of a less wide, thicker ESEE Izula 2 handle. This may not be comfortable for XL or particularly wide L hands because your pinky may begin to slip forcing a 3 finger grip Another note of caution: This is NOT a true scandi grind! The main bevel is flat and set at a good angle for a scandi grind but is convexed from the edge to about 1/4 inch up the bevel, thus making the edge itself convexed. It was fairly easy to make it a true scandi with my 1x30 sander but just be aware of that.
