great working knife

This is a tough work knife. The chisel-grind edge is almost indestructible. It's also light weight, though, and carries easily. You'll hardly know it's on your hip until you need it.

Taliban Takedown -WINNER

I own several Tops knives. They are ALL excellent quality. Their Kydex sheaths with the adjustable belt clips are wonderful! This model is small enough for EDC and a hell of a self defense backup blade. I put Tops on par with ESEE with a much more diverse collection. No mention of the cool names! God bless America.

Kind of pointless

I purchased this on a whim. Knife design is kind of silly. Not practical for much of anything. It is different and that's what sold me on it. I fell for the looks of it. Not sure what TOPS was trying to market it as. Not a true Fighting knife as it is too small and has no guard. I wish it were bigger. Handle is a little too short. Scales are 4” but feel crowded. Overall knife size is 90% I would like it to be. I was thinking of this as a boot knife but it is a little short for that IMHO. Blade stock of 0.190” is too thick for its length which makes this knife heavier than what it looks like. It has a chisel point tip which is my first knife with that design. Knife is built well like most TOPS knives. Had it come with a leather sheath, I definitely would not have bought it because TOPS grossly over oils their sheaths and that fouls the handles. The Taco style Kydex sheath is nice but the retention is WAY too tight. Must figure a way to loosen it up. I knocked off a point because the handle is too short and girth too small for such a heavy thick blade and the sheath retention is way too tight. Overall I like the knife. I just don't know what I will use it for.

Odd Knife

My Comments •I purchased this on a whim. Knife design is kind of silly. Not practical for much of anything. It is different and that's what sold me on it. I fell for the looks which I do like. Not sure what TOPS was trying to market it as. Not a good, true Fighting knife as it is too small and has no finger guards. TOPS said the blade is Tactical Gray but it's actually black. They said blade is 4.5 " but mine is 4.125". They said knife is 8.5 " but mine is 8.250". •I wish it were longer. Handle is a little too short. Scales are 4” but feel crowded due to the finger choils. Overall knife size is 90% of what I would like it to be. I was thinking of this as a boot knife but it is a little short for that IMHO. Handle shape is a chunky feeling rectangle with flat sides and multi-finger choils on lower edge. •Blade stock of 0.190” is too thick for its length which makes this knife heavier than what it looks. It has a Tanto Chisel Point tip which is my first knife with that design. •Knife is built well like most TOPS knives. Had it come with a leather sheath, I definitely would not have bought it because TOPS grossly over oils their sheaths and that fouls the micarta handles. •The Folded Taco style Kydex sheath is nice but the retention is WAY too tight. Must figure a way to loosen it up. I knocked off a point because the handle is too short and girth too small for such a heavy thick blade and the sheath retention is way too tight and doesn't have a thumb ramp for extraction.

Came dull out of the box.

The knife came very dull out of the box. I've been sharpening knives for many years and via of many systems. I couldn't get a decent edge on this knife. I waited a long time for this knife to become available again & it's not worth the wait. I had to send it back to the factory and haven't heard back from it. They will sharpen it IF you pay postage to & from. I have many TOPS knives and have had good luck with them even though they are probably over-priced. You shouldn't have to send a $100.00 knife back to sharpen it, it should come that way. Very disappointed in the knife and company's customers service. Thanks
