Impressed
I held off buying this sword for years (I remember United Cutlery first releasing it when The Fellowship of the Ring came out over 20 years ago). I wasn’t sure the quality was there. But then they released The Hobbit movie’s version of Sting. I saw that improvements had been made and it looked like a good display sword (not made for battle, but a respectable steel and a sharp edge). After years of contemplating, I finally bought it (and the matching scabbard) this year. I wasn’t sure pleasantly surprised with it. Nice sharp blade, solid guard and pommel, beautiful etching on blade, and nice design on the grip. Not sure if the grip is some kind of plastic or is wood, but it still looks and feels nice. For the price, United did a great job with this sword. And United Cutlery’s scabbard (The Hobbit movie version) I bought separately for it Is good quality and fits the blade perfectly. Very pleased with my purchase!
