Perfect size for carrying.

I have carried this knife for about 3 years. The size is a compromise between the useless small sak's and the bigger ones you leave at home or store in your pack unacessable. Big enough to actually use, small and light enough to ride in a cellphone pocket unnoticed. I converted the nail file into a nailfile/ knife blade/screwdriver tip with a dremel tool, and added an eyeglass screwdriver to the corkscrew. A paracord lanyard makes it easy to access. My Victorinox multitool now rides in the daypack, for bigger tasks.

Excellent comanion knife

What is there to say that hasn't already been said by so many others? Victorinox makes a great product. I chose this one to include in my BoB (bug out bag) as an addition to a multitool and a couple other knives. I like that it is basic and has just the tools I wanted to add without including ones I didn't really need.

Victorinox Swiss Army Sportsman-excellent pocket knife

Excellent knife: slightly smaller than original knives with the same functionality. Small enough and thin enough with all the essential tools for a very useful pocket knife.

Outstanding pocket knife

I just got my second one so that I could have one on my person and one in my car. Very sharp blade. Really like having the file,very useful. The corkscrew is a little small to open wine but is perfect for untying knots. Really like that I can carry in a coin pocket or cargo pocket. Highly recommend

A buffed up Victorinox Cadet

I own a lot of Victorinox multitools and was looking for something larger than the Classic SD for my nails but had other useful tools. While my Alox Cadet is very similar in size (84 mm) and more elegant than the Sportsman, the Sportsman has a toothpick, tweezers, an awl, a corkscrew (which I added a mini screwdriver to), a pin hole which I added a pin, which are not available on the Alox Cadet. For both the Alox Cadet and the Sportsman, I wish Victorinox got rid of the can opener and put in its place the scissors from the Classic SD to make it more handy. Despite that, I love the size of this knife because its not heavy, slightly smaller than most other Victorinox's and has the very handy nail file/clearner on it and won't get lost in my handbag like the very tiny Classic SD.
