Quality product

I bought this knife to add to my collection. After receiving it, I've decided to order another Swiss Army One-Hand in a slightly different configuration with case to carry all the time. I personally think this knife rivals any in the market for quality. Everything works flawlessly. The lock is strong, blade material is wonderful for sharpening, the clip slides into my pocket every time with very little force and holds in place good. I'm sold.........

Great corrosion resistant everyday carry knife.

When you live in California, where anything that can pop a ballon is illegal or warrants people's concern, you have to choose a very unassuming yet good enough for minimal cut-and-chop-type of knife duty. Since the 'swiss army' look disarms most people into dismissing it as an all day utility anyone would carry this knife does the job of ensuring a little protection and versatile utility. The steel isn't bad either being corrosion resistant owing to it's swiss quality. The pocket clip is a very wonderful feature I purposely looked for so it doesn;t feel off place in denim or dress pants pockets .

New EDC

I received this knife two weeks ago and have been carrying it daily. I really like this knife, it is lightweight, a decent size and very sharp with a strong lock-up. The integral tweezers and toothpick are nice touches as they are useful to have when you need them. The liner lock is odd and basically forces you to use your opposite hand to close it but that is the only thing that I can fault on this knife. I've always liked SAKs and am glad they are still made in Switzerland, the quality is very evident.

The most practical money clip.

The perfect money clip. It hosts a quality blade for everyday/utility use. And baring any sentimental attachments, if it became misplaced, you are not so ($) broken-hearted. An exectptional value. I've carried it for years.

A pretty good every day carry knife.

A pretty typical swiss army knife but with a pocket clip. Victorinox needs to make more versions with the clip. The clip itself is pretty stiff but works well. I would like to see a thinner version perhaps with the metal scales.

Great quality all around on this knife

Great quality all around on this knife. The design of the lock (not able to close liner-lock with right hand only) and clip (knife sits pivot up in pocket) take a bit of getting used to. Comfortable to carry, with an easy to sharpen blade.

Useful and practical

It's a very convenient knife. Simple and efficient like all Swiss stuff. The blade is good and easy to re-sharpen. Maybe a little bit difficult top open quickly.

a good purchase

I like it because it's light, thin, has tweezers and toothpick and it sharp, inexpensive with one hand opening. Also find the pocket clip holds securely, The handle is slick, but tough and doesn't scratch like other victorinox handles. Good for basic camping needs and everyday. But I need gloves if using for awhile (shaving cedar branches) because the design of the linerlock will begin to dig into my hand. And I like that the tip is rounded/dull. It's what I was looking for. What I don't like is that it's a bit long. It can be awkward to open sometimes, but pretty use to it now. Opening it is stiff but that's ok. The lefty liner lock is fine because I close the knife against my leg as I do with most my knives. I have the plain edge and will be getting their SE version. I like their SE design.

Been a long time coming

I have had this same knife without the clip and one handed option for over 10 years and it has served me flawlessly. Just sorry to see it took so long for this model to hit the market. Great every day knife that is light and thin. Just wish it wasn't black, though red isn't much better

Nice economical knife

Nice basic knife. The one hand opening is a plus. Handle thickness, and flexing there of, on the liner lock side when blade is open is a concern.

Wouldnt buy again

Quality isn't bad but not as rugged as the Spyderco, SOG or ZT knives. Pocket clip cant be moved/adjusted. Cannot pull and open one handed from a right hand pocket. Unlocking the blade is a clumsy movement.

Disappointed

This is a very non-typical one-hand lock blade knife. As mentioned, the lock is on the “wrong” side of the blade for a right handed user. The blade spring is so strong, the blade is difficult to open with the thumb (one handed). On the one I received, the lock doesn’t actually touch the blade when opened. In other words there is clearance between the lock and blade, and the blade isn’t locked tight in place when fully open. Instead the blade spring holds the blade open (as on a non-locking folder), and the “lock” will allow the blade to move slightly before it hits the lock and is prevented from closing. The “lock” functions more like a safety than an actual blade lock. Toward the pinky end, the liner on one side of the handle has a curious swell in it that I consider uncomfortable. The opposite liner has so such swell, so its purpose is a mystery to me. The knife is very slim and the grips somewhat slippery, making it comfortable in the pocket but a little unsecure in the hand during use. The clip seems sturdy and secure, although a little gaudy in appearance. I like the overall size and shape of both the knife and the blade. This is the first SAK I’ve been disappointed in. Due to the cumbersome lock release and difficulty of opening with one hand, I will neither recommend it to others nor buy another like model from this series of SAKs.
