Beast

This thing is a beast. I love the size of the main blade it’s a lot larger than most of the 111mm knives. This saw and file are huge and awesome. In the Phillips screw driver is really useful. Only thing I’m not crazy about is you have to lift up the pliers to access the in-line Phillips screwdriver but I am just nit picking. The toolset is perfect and the scissors are larger and great to use. I wish it came with the sheath.

Excellent and useful tool

This purchase was a shot in the dark. I’ve wanted this SAK for quite a while and I read every review and forum about this knife that I could find. My only reservation was the size. The general consensus seems to be that it isn’t suitable for pocket carry. I can’t stand belt sheaths, so I held off on purchasing. Finally, I decided to go for it. Boy, am I glad that I did! This thing is great. I’ve been carrying it in my pocket for a few weeks with no problem. It is large and somewhat heavy, but I carry it next to my wallet and it stays upright and in place. I now carry it instead of my Leatherman Arc. The toolset is robust and useful. I am a construction worker and a father of two children, so there are many occasions to use the tools. The fit and finish is top notch. The tools open exactly the l same as a regular SAK, but with the addition of a liner lock on the blade and bottle opener/large screwdriver/pry bar. There is the slightest up and down play on the locking tools, but not enough to notice in use. The nylon scales provide plenty of grip and don’t scratch like the normal cellidor scales. Both the large and small Phillips screwdrivers open inline, which is much more convenient than the rear opening ones on the smaller model SAK’s. I appreciate that the stainless steel that Victorinox uses basically never rusts. I sweat at work, and every other multitool that I’ve owned has had some minor rust by now. This tool is still as shiny and rust free as the day that I got it. If it is too big or heavy for to carry in your pocket, there are sheaths available. I eventually purchased a pocket clip that attaches to the key ring. I hook it on my 5th pocket to keep the knife upright and suspended in my main pocket. I remove the clip when in wearing pants without a 5th pocket, and have no issues. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a great multitool with a robust toolset!

What I was looking for

This is exactly what I was looking for. I needed a multi-tool bigger then the Swiss Champ to carry on me for those bigger jobs where a locking blade is preferred.
