Evoke Navy Camo Black - Understand Before Buy

Great quality, original style - modern essence. Because the black treatment is sensitive to acids, only buy if you are planing to protect it.

For rough use that could involve acids and heavy abrasion, a Stainless Alox Silver is maintained as the blade endures well and when the Silver Aluminum Oxide grips are scratched deeply - more aluminum shows through. Perfect aging and endurance.

This Navy Camo can handle a range of tasks without showing more than pleasant wear as long as you are aware to choose the types of exposure.

The black treatment has many nice qualities - it is not a coating, rather a treatment of the stainless metal itself. Some acids will remove the shine-blocking factor quickly.

The Evoke update of the Hunter Pro is excellent. Read the specs carefully as it is large and very comfortable for many hand types, but not an easy carry for some.

While it can be clipped in a pants pocket, a belt sheath of just the right size adds convenience. Finding folding knife sheaths that fit and have suitable properties involves careful attention or custom order as the exact measurements are less common in the market generally.

The pivot and lock can get stiff initially as use refines the moving surfaces. It can help to put camellia or other suitable oils that match the black treatment and move the parts to help the oil spread. A key action can be to tap or gently apply pressure to the back of the blade tip in a way that allows oil to travel down the pivot pin. This slight pressure can solve a variety of 'too tight' experiences that sometimes happen because Victorinox sets the tolerances without allowing adjustable retensioning - to prevent loss of parts and other negative experiences. It is possible to send in for tuning, but has not been needed.

Arrived in a perfect condition - nicely ground but not yet very sharp. This is preferred as the new owner will sharpen it to the extent intended.

What is best about the Black Navy Camo Evoke is the excellent Victorinox quality and heritage in a modern update that is original and with a styling package that takes time and attention to properly admire.
