Finally, an Excuse to Carry!
I carry knives. I have always carried—from that first whittler, from my Dad to task-oriented work and hobby blades. Very few of my friends carry knives or multi-tools of any sort. Current social psychology would have you believe that being 'independent' or 'prepared' is some sort of gilding for a violent or otherwise anti-social personality but who do they ask to turn their errant screws or trim a line or split their apple for them...? One particularly tool-resistant friend is a die-hard wine fanatic. Yet, I am the one tasked with opening the occasional bottle produced mid-way through a day hike...! O, the injustice of it all! Justice is coming in the form of this professional-quality wine tool! Where I live, it is illegal to be unprepared in the wilderness: it's rarely enforced but having a reasonable blade with you is one of the smartest ways to be prepared for the Wild. With the threat of wine being unopened or being savagely opened against a rock face, my friend will finally HAVE TO CARRY…and the wine will be 'the carrot' and this blade will be 'the stick' to get this 'mule' to see things my way! Thank you Knife Center. PS. The knife steel is just Adequate. Not a true con, considering the cheap blades on competitors' folding 'wine tools' and his projected occasional use. 'The Thin Edge of The Wedge' to get this guy carrying!
