The Best Knife Is The One You Have

I've been using SAKs for almost 40 years. Sure, if I'm camping I'm gonna have my Huntsman on me. It is the best for hiking. But I don't spend most of my time hiking. I spend it working, or just going about my normal daily routine. And I own a can opener, so if I need one at home, I'm covered. What I need when I walk around is a few basic tools most SAKs have. What I don't need is the bulk of a large knife that makes carrying it a chore. The Compact is all the best, most useful tools Victorinox packs, and nothing else. It's small enough to carry without any problem at all, but it's big enough to pack the full-sized tools I need. If I ever need more tools or a smaller package, I go with the Minichamp. Do yourself a favor and get one of these. I own two. I've been using them since they came out about a decade ago. Think of it as a Bantam plus scissors, jeweler's screwdriver, pen, pin, and hook. Get it. GET IT.

My best SAK

Great knife. I use the scissors very often. Don't understand the hook. There must be something that is useful to replace it with. I love how thin this knife is. Great EDC.

New Favorite

Open pop bottles, use the scissors on junk mail, Walmart & Amazon packages etc. Great emergency pen. I own & use many different Victorinox and Wenger knives but this is my new favorite!

good but...

in my opinion cork screw driver for opening wine bottle and hook is bad choices for this knife, instead of them, designers could add phillips screw driver and reamer with eye hole that's very useful and nice view for victorinox, meanwhile if designers of victorinox should eliminate tweezers and toothpick and pen because they are separable items, means that after a while people lose them in so doing you imagine, we have a tool with two or three holes on that, look at 1891 victorinox that has such a nice view after many years all people love it. also these separable items could be on classic( not all of them) knives that people every day carry with themselves on the key chains not on every original 84 or 91 or 111 mm knives!
