THE Swiss Army Knife with all the important stuff

One of these was the first knife I ever owned, given to me for my tenth birthday. Twelve years later I still have that knife, and I still bring it with me most places I go. It has all the tools I've ever needed in a knife and more - I've probably gotten at least as much use out of the saw, scissors and tweezers as the knife blades - and has stood up well to years of all the abuse a young country boy and budding wilderness tripper could put to it. I once rolled the very tip of the large blade trying to pry off a bottle cap, but with the point filed flat again it is still a perfectly functional blade, and a little bit of the plastic scales has chipped off after being dropped many times, but other than that it has no significant damage and still works as well as I could ask for. I expect to be using it for many more years. The only criticisms I have are that the handle scales could use a little more texture, as they are somewhat slippery when wet, and that I've rarely found much use for the hook or the awl, both of which are a little bit tricky to use without folding them in on your hand (though they take up no extra room and would be nice to have in a truly desperate situation). Sturdy, made of quality steel (I have a cheap Chinese-made knife of similar design which can't take half as sharp an edge and would break under far less strain), practically-sized (a tiny bit bulky for a jeans pocket, but fits unobtrusively in a jacket pocket or on a lanyard), and comprising a good set of useful, functional tools without too many frills. In my opinion, probably the most practical Swiss Army model Victorinox offers for the average person's needs in everyday life, travel and camping. Highly recommended.

Great quality pocket knife for the price

I am a knife enthusiast. I never leave home without one. I own two other Victorinox Swiss Army knives "Camper" and "Helmsman" I love them both. They are a great quality knife for the price. You can't beat it.

A timeless classic indeed

You couldn't find a better product for the money if you tried. Victorinox carries the name for a reason; especially one of the number one suppliers for the Boy Scouts. The fit and finish is flawless. The only thing is the multi-purpose hook is near the key ring and takes a little effort to open. The slip joint mechanism is very sturdy and smooth. The saw is jagged and sharp, like it should be. The blades are sharp and all the components are beautifully polished. Need I say more?

Perfect EDC

The perfect toolset. I have never had a tool close on me during operation. I guess if you don’t know what you’re doing or you are using the knife wrong you might get cut. I also love the fieldmaster that is the same knife. It replaced the cork screw for a Phillips screwdriver. Just the right amount of tools and easy on the pocket
