Tinker with xtra tools

I have had this model for years. As you know it’s a tinker with pliers, scissors, and a hook. Bottom line when I want more tools than a tinker I take this out. Pliers are great for pulling staples and the scissors can cut zip ties and nose hairs. Have not found a use for the hook yet. So glad this sak does not have a cork screw. Leatherman seems obsessed with bottle openers and way too many SAKs have a cork screw. I don’t drink and I never want to. Anyway back to the knife it’s a little big for pocket carry so this one goes in a sak pouch on my belt. Everything fits great and no tools rub on each other. This has got to be one of my top ten edc’s when I need more tools than the tinker model. I wish they made a alox version of this knife. If they did I would probably get 6 of them and get rid of a lot of other knives in my rotation.

bulky , but ....

i used this model on my hike across Alaska and the NWT. you gott'a have some sort of blade, and then you want scissors to cut the foot tape, and then one needs pliers for ... if you trek far enough, sure as God made little green apples, you'll be looking for pliers. the phillips head is good for snugging up the bolts on the sled. contrary to some folks opinions, you'll eventually be using the awl. one can get the most of this in a Gerber Dime at 2.2oz, but at 4.2 oz .. and 2 oz is a Lot when it's in your pack, everything is beefier and works better with this knife. all that said, its tools need to be sharpened and tuned to work at higher levels. example ; the flat head screwdriver is polished and thusly dull and rounded at the working end. a single cut file and some initiative can set the to right. in a perfect world, it would be of carbon steel, and not stainless.

Victorinox Swiss Army Deluxe Tinker

Currently my favorite model Swiss army knife. I carry it everywhere except on board airliners and other places whre knifes are prohibited. I feel naked with out it. I has Phillips head screwdriver. I do not need or want a cork screw. The pliers I like but would prefer they were slightly thinner so as to slim down the knife some. I carry a Super Tinker when I dress up. My last one was so beat up. Including broken tip on big blade. My fault. It was time for a new one.

everthing you need

Awesome swiss army knife. Very capable, all the tools you need in a relatively compact and lightweight package. Pliers are suprisingly affective for there size.Scissors are great and blades are typical swiss army, awesome.Perfect size swiss army knife.

My son lost this exact knife. The journey was to try to find the exact replacement, as neither of us knew what it actually was 'named'. Thank goodness I ordered the 31/2" with all the correct gadgets. Because it was a gift to my son, I couldn't really ask him much, however after researching it, I fortunately found your website.
