Pros: Overall Quality, Durability
Cons: None
Love it!
I really like this one! It fits my SwissChamp perfectly. It can expand a little more to maybe hold something a few mm wider or thicker, but I think a Champ is pretty much it. It will also hold smaller knives since the sides are folded in so it simply folds/unfolds to snugly fit what you put in it. For example my Evo 18 fits snugly as well, zero moving around or rattling. The Champ is a nicer match to its overall size which isn't much bigger than the Champ. It uses velcro instead of a snap, which I don't mind too much since I won't use it much, and it will allow the flap to come down on further on shorter 84mm knives. It looks good and is well made with thick nylon and good stitching. The belt loop is not sewn on, but uses four rivets that have solid smooth heads on both sides which looks great, and considering how tough the nylon is I don't see how this loop will ever break. The loop is full width so I won't be twisting up on your belt which I consider annoying. It'll accept a max of 1-7/8" belt which would be a tight fit and isn't going anywhere. On my 1-3/8" belt it can twist just a little. It also fits tight against the belt, so even on my smaller belt it won't move around on its own. It also has a little nylon loop of fabric sewn inside on the left rear corner (as viewed from the pix) that is basically a pocket to slide something else in there with the knife so neither gets scratched by the other. Maybe a sharpener, ferro, some bills rolled/folded up, I dunno. Not much room with a Champ in there, but with a smaller knife you could use it for more. Note that the sides do not reach the bottom or top, so with my Champ in it I can see the bottom and top 1/2" or so of the knife when viewed from the sides. I'm pretty finicky about a sheath, which I think should look good and be no larger than need be, and of course be built so you don't realize one day the loop broke and your toy is gone. So imo, for a Champ, I don't think I'll find a better one.
