Slim edc with well thought out approach
While I generally don’t go looking for a slim knife but seeing the hype around these I decided to give it a go. First off the knife is extremely thin. On arrival I was carrying a Hinderer “skinny” hollow grind slicer Eklipse. You might as well forget it. Even with the clip the porcupine ti slim is still under half the thickness. Thinking the thin ness of the knife would be uncomfortable it is not. Easy access to the thumb studs for both thumb flick, slow roll, and reverse flick are no issues. The jimping on the spine, blade, and finger choil are very much appreciated and greatly improves traction on such a thin knife. The blade shape is a perfect edc companion and the s90v came absolutely double edged razor sharp out of the box. You will definitely notice some similarities to spyderco and the oz machine Rosie when looking at and handling the knife. I think for the price the knife is exactly where it needs to be. I would like to see the other variants of the scales be able to get the s90v as the acid washed scales are well done the milling pattern reminds me of something from stranger things. The biggest concern for me on the knife is the use of what appear be to teflon washers on the inside. Given how thin the knife is I’m not sure how bearings would really fit and at disassembly there are black nylon or teflon washers acting as the bearing. Mine came gritty on the action and was curious of a clean an relube. I’d be interested to see how pb washers would handle in this. Outside of the washers and action (which has greatly improved with opening and closing the knife), Vosteed you got a hit.
