Great stones for a specific task
I had a good idea of what these stones would be before they came, and I was not surprised. They are excellent coarse diamond stones for very rough shaping. I sometimes run into a blade that needs a total re-profiling to get a burr at the right angle, and I don't want to overly wear down my 100/200 grit stone in the effort. These extra coarse stones are just the right tool for that specific job. Like most stones from Wicked Edge, there is a break in period, and they will leave a very scratchy rough edge. They are only for occassional use. Be prepared to do some refining, but you will have your burr much faster on the very dull, thick blades.
