UTS ultimate survival BlastMatch fire I have used Starter

I have used a BlastMatch for camping and back yard fires over 200 times in the last five years and it shows very little wear. I often show a full range of men, women, and children how to light a cotton ball and if you can build a fire with a match a cotton ball is easier and you when use a BlastMatch it's safer!

BlastMatch is Good to Go

Working with some Scouts on fire making and saw that some were having trouble getting the ferro rods to spark enough to fire up the tinder bundles - they did not have enough grip & forearm strength, it seemed. Ordered a pair of these, and at the next session (in a light rain, no less) those Scouts had no trouble getting a tinder bundle lit when using the BlastMatch!! It was good to see their faces & increased confidence after this success! I made sure to get the orange - they have not been lost yet. If it is user-friendly enough for young Scouts, that is good enough to get my recommendation. The fact that young Scouts could make it work in a light rain on their first exposure to it - that gets my HEARTY recommendation!
