Great Prep Blade
I’ve had my Camp Cleaver for about two years, it has become my favorite multi-use kitchen prep blade. It has plenty of belly for excellent slicing performance but still chops very well. The handle is a good fit in my hand, but if you have XL hands it may feel a bit small. The blade holds an edge extremely well, I’ve only sharpened it once or twice (but then I don’t chop wood or bone with it) other than an occasional stropping. It is a great size for the prep I do, small enough to be nimble but large enough to perform tasks from chopping vegetables and meat. And it’s stainless - but I always wipe my blades dry regardless. The micarta handle looked a but plain out of the box, but an application of mineral oil brought out the figure without compromising the grip. Overall this has been a perfect blade for my kitchen work.
