My Answer to the Question:
When I heard the question: "If you could have one EDC Blade for the rest of your life, what would you choose?" I took a couple of months thinking about that. I looked a dozens of folders and built a list to compare them all in. And yet, I never really wanted to order any of them. That was all because I'm more of a fixed blade kind of guy. Then I started surfing for small fixed blades, suitable for EDC. The Bradford Guardian3 was a close contender. But in the end I ordered this Caper. Am I ever glad that I did! The size is perfect for my average size hands. CPM S35VN (stainless) steel doesn't dissapoint in the least. Small and light enough to forget that I have it. (A lady could drop this in her purse and forget it's there.) Large enough to handle most anything you could throw at it. Granted, I have no plans of batoning with it. (But honestly, if you expect to be batoning logs and branches, be smart, bring a hatchet or an axe.) I don't plan on ever being without this knife. The Guardian is a good choice, especially the 3.5 version. But I prefer the Caper for "everyday". A little more expensive?, yes. But you only have buyers remorse once. After that you have a the rest of your life to enjoy the quality.
