I own this exact lighter and the picture doesn't quite capture the chrome and gold. The lighter shines a bit more with that chrome, yet the satin makes it feel like it has a matte finish in your hand. It you ooen the picture you can see the texture. The smaller gold engraving is slightly harder to read the larger bold words, but the lighter is definitely likely to catch someone's attention when you pull it out. Like any zippo, they'll dry out if not regularly used, but that's no surprise. The lighter looks great and doesn't easily scratch if you have it in the same pocket as a clipped everyday carry folding knife
