Worth the Money I spent
I work as a defense contractor in the middle east. I did alot of looking around and comparing both styles of folding knives and materials for knives before spending my money on my duty knife. My requirements were that it had to be strong, lightweight (I sometimes have on alot of gear, so weight matters), compact, quick opening (just in case I need it fast), have a pocket clip, be black or camouflage, feel good in my hand, have good center of gravity, and look intimidating (just in case). This knife fits the bill perfectly. I bought this knife over 6 months for everyday use and as a last defense if I needed it to be , so I made sure to use it everytime I needed to use a knife to test its reliability. Here is a list of things I have used this knife for: *Making ash trays out of soda cans *Cutting open plastic seals, and bottles *Cutting paper, and cardboard. *Cutting Pizza, cheese, other foods *Opening packages, cutting away tape *Prying open jammed tire claws *Scraping paint and gunk off of cement *Used as screwdriver (blade) *Used as hammer (handle) *Digging into sand/gravel *Trimming away brush *Sharpening Pencils *Cutting through metal around eraser( really needed to erase something and the eraser was worn down) *Prying open steel door on computer lock box(key was missing) *Cut rope etc... After all of this I can still shave a sliver of cheese off of a brick, cut a piece of paper, and just sharpened a pencil with it tonight too. Problems: When cutting rope: the blade is not serrated so you cant just pull through or saw, you have to rock the blade back and forth and apply downward pressure and it works fine. When piercing: The nose of the knife is diamond shaped to reinforce the strength of the tip so when you pierce into something like a soda can or bottle, you need to control the knife and apply a little more pressure than normal because you are fighting to sqeeze that diamond through the intial slit. once the tip of the knife is through , the rest of the blade slides in like the can/bottle was butter. Overall, my favorite knife. Buy it, and use it. No need with this to feel bad about spending so much money on a knife that you you leave it in a drawer. You won't ruin it.
