Awesome Knife

My first ZT, but already not my last. Picked up the 0770 last week. The 0550 has become one of my favorite knives. The blade is well executed with S35VN steel. The G10 handle does look better in person and the design produces incredible grip, like serious non-skid. Opening was difficult at first because any pressure on the lock bar prevents it. With a little practice you learn where to hold it and then the opening is very smooth and quick. Personally, I place my last three fingers on the pocket clip and my index finger drops just below the lock bar, and she opens easily. The lock up is the most solid of any knife I own. ZT means Zero blade play, I mean Zero. Heavy is relative. It actually cares lighter than it's weight suggests, but it's not for slacks and golf shorts. It is a beautiful knife and so well engineered. Highly recommended.

Awesome knife that is truly a the top of my list. Well balanced & precision crafted. Great value in a knife that you can carry daily. KnifeCenter shipped quickly and if it wasn't for the USPS mishap on delivering would have had it in break neck speed.

ZT 0550BLK

I use it as EDC. I call it as a pocket tank. That knife feels much more better in hands as it looks like at the picture. Clip is not titanium. It tooks about 1000 times opening and some lube to make that blade fly. Its opening pretty fast for the weight of the blade! The knife design to work in gloves because g10 plate is too rough for the skin. That model is one of the best for price and quality on the market. No bearings what makes knife more reliable for heavy tasks. Thx again for KC for excellent customer service!

Built like a tank

Very sturdy, heavy knife that acts like a fixed blade once open. The only problem I have with it is that it is hard to open one handed.

Wasn't what I expected, but it works

I use the product for cooking in the woods, sometimes to whittle, and as a showpiece. Now the first time i got this folder, I was a bit disappointed in the fact that the little ugly white circle that looks like thumbstuds, are not thumbstuds. There blade stoppers, meaning that the obtrusion isn't extending enough for your thumb to grip it and pull the blade open. It isn't a big deal, I can still open it one handed by using my thumb and middle finger to grip the blade and pull it out of detent then use the bladstoppers the rest of the way. It isn't fast like thumbstuds, but it helps me like the knife a bit more. The blade looks tacticool, performs well, and is made of my favorite steel for skinning and survival purposes, s30V. This gives the knife exceptional stain resistance, and edge retention. And as long as the handle doesn't add another 200 to the price, I'm happy with ugly ones that look normal and not flashy since simplicity is more manly and less pricey in my opinion. But if your buying the knife for self-defense reasons, I advise you to go for the 0560 instead, it has a flipper thingy that pops the blade out like a microwaved egg.
