Love it

This is the second ZT I've ownwed. I've got a 0095BW (love it!) which is heavier than this 0609 by 1.5 oz (or 43 grams) - which doesn't seem like much but makes a massive difference. The 0609 is no where near as fluid to deploy as the 0095, which isn't helped by the fact that the 'flipper' bit your index finger uses to deploy the blade is a) smaller b) rounded, rather than sporting a good edge. I've oiled the action and given it a bit of back and fourth - I'm sure it will loosen up. Despite this stiff deployment - what a GORGEOUS blade. I love this thing - feels great in my (average) sized hands - even though it is a 'smaller' blade. It's certainly smaller than the 0095, so it's a perfect lightweight alternative. On a defensive standpoint - I would not want to be on the other end of this blade, despite the slightly smaller size. This thing is typically (for ZT) exceptionally sharp. An item of beauty. Last note: the "bronze" colour you see on websites is no where near as brown as usually shown. It is dark brown but to the point where it looks like a dark grey in low-light. Your mileage may vary.

Perfect edc

I’ve had this knife for well over a year. Occasionally I read some reviews that indicate a problem with the detent. Maybe I got lucky, but this thing is outstanding. It flips like lightning. This is one of the best flipping knives in my collection. Its up there with my shirogorovs. One thing I appreciate is the sound, a nice satisfying “click” when it opens. Not only is the action amongst the best, it has perfect ergonomics, and great blade shape. The color is a matter of taste. I don’t have a problem with bronze, especially on this knife. It’s a nice contrast with the satin blade. Just like every other ZT I have, it came scary sharp. The only downside, is the proprietary pivot screw. I don’t mind the see through pivot, it’s different, what bothers me is, not only was it not included, it wasn’t available when this knife was released. Including would have also driven the cost up, obviously. Since I don’t take my knives apart, unless absolutely necessary, it really wasn’t an issue until recently. My pivot screw loosened up a little, and now I’m waiting for my STP tool in the mail.

Excellent knife

I like the overall design I like how the blade and handle come together as one lock up very secure flipper action very smooth I really like the finish of the handle and shininess of the blade very elegant Knife edc

Great Design

Great designed blade and handle that work great together. Like most user of this knife, keeping pressure off the lock when opening takes a few tries. I added this to the EDC rotation and would recommend.

outstanding knife

This is a welcome addition to my Zero Tolerence Knife collection. I love the lines on the 0609, and think RJ Martin did an excellent job with this design. This will become one of my EDC knives on rotation. The only drawback is the flipper tab, but I am sore with time it will loosed up. Overall a great purchase. Drew C

I'm not on the ZT bandwagon

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a proponent of most ZT knives. I believe they are highly overrated and just for show. They won't have what it takes in a hard use situation like a Benchmade, KA-BAR, Hogue, Spyderco or others. As just a normal everyday carry, I believe it suits just fine. There is some texture on the titanium handles which is nice; they are also contoured which is comfortable. It closes very smoothly as well. The detent is not as atrocious as most ZT's. For the price, this is a very good deal with a knife that is a moderate use elaborate knife. I wouldn't trust my life to it (or any knife with a framelock for the matter).

ZT 0609 disappointed

Knife center, shipping and packaging was great!!! I own 5 other ZT knives with the 450 being best in action and edc fit. It's hard to believe this came from the same company. Blade steel is class, shape of blade good, packet clip good. Detention was terrible, had to loosen frame screws to open it. No adj at pivot, no tool. Scales are slicker than if left plain. Get one in hand before buying if you can. You have a hard time holding the knife and opening without putting even more pressure on detent. Worse ZT i have. Sending it back today. Lock was weak.
