What blade shape does the Artisan Cutlery Proponent use?
The Artisan Cutlery Proponent features a modified Wharncliffe blade with a straight cutting edge and an acute, seax-like tip. Its exceptionally thick blade stock provides outstanding strength for hard utility cuts, while the straight edge allows full-length contact on flat surfaces.
What is the threaded pin on the Artisan Cutlery Proponent?
The included threaded bolt serves as an auxiliary lock that can physically secure the blade in either the open or closed position. Screwing the pin through the titanium frame when opened effectively converts the folder into a fixed blade, while securing it when closed prevents the heavy blade from accidentally opening during storage or transport in a bag.
What steel is used for the Proponent blade?
Current production Proponent models feature CPM-S35VN stainless steel. S35VN is a premium powder-metallurgy steel that provides an ideal balance of edge retention, corrosion resistance, and high toughness against chipping under demanding use.
