CIVIVI Concept 22 Fixed Blade FAQ

Designed by Geoff Blauvelt of TuffKnives, the CIVIVI Concept 22 series combines a tactical aesthetic with a wide, high-grind blade optimized for slicing and utility work.

What tasks is the Concept 22 best suited for?
The CIVIVI Concept 22 excels at slicing tasks such as skinning, game processing, and even light food preparation due to its wide blade and significant belly. While it features tactical styling, its geometry and thin handle profile make it lean more toward the role of a high-performance outdoor or hunting tool.
What steel and handle materials are used in this series?
The Concept 22 series utilizes D2 tool steel for the blades, providing a good balance of hardness and edge retention. The handles are made from contoured G10, available in different colors like OD Green and Black to match either bead-blasted or stonewashed blade finishes.
What kind of sheath and mounting hardware is included?
Each knife comes with a Kydex sheath and a Bob Terzuola designed T-Clip. This clip features slots instead of standard holes, allowing it to fit a wider variety of hole spacings than a traditional Tek-Lok mount while remaining compatible with standard belt widths.
Is the handle on the Concept 22 designed for heavy tactical use?
The handle on the Concept 22 is relatively thin and narrow in cross-section, prioritizing a low profile over a bulky, hand-filling grip. This makes it very comfortable for precise slicing and everyday carry, though it may feel less robust than a dedicated combat fixed blade during extremely high-impact use.
Can the paracord fob be easily removed?
The included paracord fob is looped onto the end of the handle rather than being permanently tied, allowing for quick removal. This is particularly useful if you are using the CIVIVI Concept 22 for messy tasks like game processing where you want to keep the handle and lanyard clean.
