CRKT Fidus

The CRKT Fidus was designed by custom knifemaker Michael Walker, who is widely credited with inventing the modern liner lock mechanism. This series showcases his signature style, combining clean, gentlemanly aesthetics with highly functional ergonomics and practical blade geometry.

The CRKT Fidus series is split into a premium limited-edition version and a standard EDC version. The limited-edition model, priced around $200, features a 3.25-inch Damascus steel blade, blue titanium handles with brushed flats, a frame lock, and a milled titanium pocket clip with a built-in roller wheel. The standard version, priced around $68, features a Sandvik 12C27 steel blade, black glass-reinforced nylon (GRN) handles, a liner lock, and a standard pocket clip.

The blade steel depends on the model: the premium version features Damascus steel, while the standard version utilizes Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. Both versions share the same 3.25-inch clip point profile with a high flat grind and a prominent swedge, culminating in a narrow, agile tip that excels at precise detail cuts and maneuvering around tight corners.

The CRKT Fidus deploys smoothly on pivot ball bearings, providing a snappy, reliable deployment when flicked open. Rather than being tuned for a completely free-swinging, “drop-shut” closing action, the pivot is tuned to offer a controlled feel that mimics the smooth resistance of high-quality washer-based pivots.
