HEAdesigns Fairwind Folding Knives

The EIKONIC Fairwind features a 2.72-inch drop point blade ground from D2 tool steel. The blade is ground thin behind the cutting edge for clean slicing capability. The series includes both plain and combination edge options, with blade finish choices such as black stonewashed, satin, and polished.

The Fairwind is built on a stainless steel liner lock with ball bearings housed in the pivot. The caged bearings ensure a snappy, fluid flipper deployment, while the liner lock provides solid lockup during everyday tasks.

The Fairwind handle features a gentle palm curve designed to fill the hand comfortably despite its compact size. Textured G10 handle scales provide a confident grip, offering enough room for a four-finger hold while remaining easy to manipulate in three-finger positions.

The Fairwind was designed by Sam, founder of HEAdesigns, in partnership with EIKONIC Knives. Unlike brands that outsource production to generic OEM catalogs, EIKONIC manufactures their own knives, bringing distinctive designer styling to an approachable price point in the $75 range.

D2 is a high-carbon, semi-stainless tool steel prized for excellent edge retention and wear resistance. Because it contains less chromium than fully stainless alloys, it should be wiped clean and dry after exposure to moisture and treated with a light coat of mineral oil periodically to resist surface spotting.
