Who designed the North Mountain Blade BBNM?
The North Mountain Blade BBNM was designed by Duane Dwyer, a co-founder of Strider Knives. The knife incorporates silhouette and ergonomic cues from classic hard-use tactical designs like the SnG while establishing its own modern profile and artisan craftsmanship.
What blade steel does the BBNM use?
The BBNM primarily features Japanese SLD Magic tool steel in a San Mai construction, creating a visible hamon line along the blade bevel. SLD Magic belongs to the D2 family but is formulated with lower carbon and chromium to achieve a finer grain structure and higher impact toughness. Select Shadow Edition models in the series utilize CPM-3V steel.
How is the North Mountain Blade BBNM constructed?
The BBNM is built on a heavy-duty titanium frame lock platform paired with either carbon fiber or matching titanium handle scales. It utilizes external stop pins, a dedicated lock bar stabilizer to prevent overtravel, and oversized hardware with T8 or larger Torx screws throughout for maximum structural strength.

The BBNM is engineered purely as a rugged, hard-use cutting tool rather than a drop-shut fidget knife. It features strong lock bar tension, firm detent retention, and solid engagement designed for secure handling during demanding work.
