Pros: Blade Material, Ease of Opening
Cons: None
Great knife but it smells like a metal hammer…
Opens easily, lock works great, is confortable and came pretty sharp. Also the shape is pretty easy to sharpen. Functionally is a great knife. D2 sharpness feels solid. My only problem is that the blade smells like a regular steel hammer, like when you open up a box filled with tools, it isn’t an unpleasant smell. I an not talking about the rust or oxide smell which isn’t nice at all. I already have 2 D2 AC folders and both smell like this so is not a problem with this particular model. Also I have many other D2 folders and they don’t smell at all. Maybe just a minimal metal trace but not near as strong as this one.Tried a few options to reduce the smell but nothing have worked completely. Isn’t like I buy knives because they work great as air fresheners but is kinda weird because no other brand has this problem and when you use it, your hand will remain with the same tool smell. Also will add that I have a very sharp sense of smell. Regular people probably won’t detect this unless you put your nose really close to the metal so probably won’t be a problem for the average nose!
