Demko Knives

The AD20.5 by Demko Knives features the impressive Shark Lock and an even more impressive price point. After handling a plethora of MG AD20s, we can safely say that this is a very dutiful representation of that awesome mid-tech design. It's slightly smaller all-around and definitely thinner, which makes this much more suited for everyday carry than tactical encounters. The Shark Lock mechanism is situated on the spine of the knife and operated with a ramp-like ‘fin', allowing you to flip the blade open and closed at will. It's probably the best thing about this knife and design, how quickly it can be deployed and ready for action. It acts as a blade launcher and a little wrist action is all it needs. The AD20.5 is available in two variations, a clip point and a shark foot sheepsfoot, and we really can't think of a way to improve either one. Except maybe a versatile S35VN steel blade and durable G10 scales.

Cons: Sheath
Excellent Knife for general use and a lock that I trust.
I use it this knife for a lot of cable cutting, some scraping and the occasional draw cuts. The blade shape is perfect for what I use it for but I would recommend the other blade shapes (Clip point, Drop point) if you use it for other things. The steel is great stainless but of course the occasional oil would be needed because on my 3 day of owning it rust did build up on it. I prefer hefty knifes but the G10 on it makes this quite like and pretty gripping when my hands get wet. I am quite a klutz though and I have dropped this knife dozens of times and some the G10 on the edges have crumbled off. Not enough to ruin the structure but it does add character. The lock does occasionally stick but I do fidget with it quite often so it eases up after a while. Lock also work with semi thicker and slim gloves; since I used it to cut frozen rope and handles well. If your hands are on the softer side the lock is quite abrasive and the lock position might make it awkward for a full grip causing a hotspot.

My FAVORITE folder EVER
I'm not a knife expert by any means - just a regular pocket carrier. This knife with the shark lock is AWESOME. I bought a new Bugout in the same order, and the difference in ease of deployment and closing is so noticeable. Could be my larger hands, but that top release on the Demko is top notch. I can deploy it with the shark lock tab easier than anything I've ever used with an axis-type lock. Deployment is just as easy with finger flicks or thumb flick. In comparison, I've had kind of a hard time with the bugout, probably bc it's so light. The Demko blade is heavier, which prob makes it easier to flick out and close. It's shark out the box. Visually so appealing. Pocket clip is very tight, and prob just needs to get broken in. I haven't used it for anything heavy duty, yet, but it does it's job for daily tasks. Paracord didn't stand a chance against the blade, either. I'm LE, and it'd be nice if they put a glass breaker tip on it, that's easy to include in any of these knives, honestly. I literally can't stop fidgeting with this knife!!! I honestly don't see myself buying a new knife for a while after this. (Don't worry Knife Center, you know I will)... This is my first ever review, and I'm doing it for a reason - bc I love this knife so much. Great job, Demko!
