The Ronin BL takes Andre's impressive Ronin design and adds a button lock for safer handling. It's interesting how this design came about. The first button lock ADV knife was the Pitboss, which happened to be based loosely on the original Ronin but with many more curves. That piece has now branched out into the Alpha and Javelin button lock flippers which all share the same shape as the Pitboss but come in different sizes. Now, to come back full circle, Andre has released a button lock version of the Ronin and has absolutely nailed it.

The ergonomics, proportions, and - of course - the looks of the Ronin have always made it one of our favorite ADV designs. All that is taken up a notch with the Ronin BL (well, the proportions do remain the same). Andre contoured the titanium frame, redesigned the inlays, and added a thumb slot to make accessing the thumb 'hole' a piece of cake. An improved pocket clip design, pivot, and collars, and a larger lanyard hole are minor aesthetic changes that really make a huge difference. The Ronin Button Lock is a ferocious beast masquerading as a thing of beauty, and we love everything about it.
